We really enjoyed creating our second exhibition, this time to celebrate the joys of Ikenobo Ikebana in the Autumn.  Finding and using interesting materials in November is something many of us would think too great a challenge but as you can see: we rose to it.

I was as delighted and proud of my students' creativity as I was for our first exhibition. Here is a "team" photo with most of my students who exhibited included.

I must again this year say a huge thank you everyone who helped make the event a success.  This includes family, friends, friends of friends and of course all my wonderful students.

This page has pictures of the "action", setting up, and preparing our arrangements and I have added another page for pictures of individual arrangements.

Predictably, setting up the hall and making our arrangements was hectic.

But once it was done, as you can see from the bottom right picture, the result was wonderful and the whole room  became amazingly calm and tranquil.

This season though, brought torrential rain, which coupled with tube suspensions for maintenance made getting to Swiss Cottage less than comfortable, but there was no dampening of enthusiasm.

During the two days of the event, several of my students gave demonstrations of Ikenobo Ikebana.  Ikebana requires both concentration and creativity but, as you might notice in this next montage, can also be fantastic fun...

...and just to complete the atmosphere, some of my fellow players of koto all resplendent in kimono, provided live, traditional Japanese musical accompaniment over the two days.

What a weekend!  And I am now looking forward to our next exhibition.  Keep an eye on my coming events page for my students' next exhibition and other Ikebana events.
