In 2011 we held our exhibition in Ruislip, west London, near to my home and where I do much of my teaching. We had great fun all arranging Ikebana together, on the Saturday morning In all we exhibited over 30 individual arrangements, with several demonstrations throughout the weekend. For a little Japanese atmosphere, Miyoko Kinkead played koto and some of us wore kimonos. We welcomed many visitors over the rest of the weekend, from the Ruislip area and a good deal further afield, and enjoyed talking to them about Ikebana. What a weekend! And I am now looking forward to our next exhibition in July 2012. This will be a very special one for me, as it is not only the 550 year anniversary of Ikenobo Ikebana, but also my own celebration of ten years of Ikebana by Junko. For more information on our July exhibition, which will be in South Kensington, take a look at coming events. I do hope you will be able to come. Finally, as always, our exhibition was the result of hard work by my students but also family, friends and friends of friends who helped setting everything up, fetching and carrying and clearing up afterwards. I would like to say huge thank you to all. |
